How To Prevent Global Warming Essay Papers

Most of us have heard the arguments about the devastating effects of global warming. We’ve also heard the arguments that the entire idea of global warming is a hoax.

While the topic continues to be debated, what’s not debatable is that you need to write an essay about global warming. (Yes, really, you do. Did you forget?)

So how do you even start writing an essay about global warming?

First, you’ll need to understand what type of essay you’re supposed to write.

  • Do you need to write an expository essay in which you simply inform readers about some aspect of global warming?
  • Are you supposed to write a problem/solution paper in which you explain a problem and its potential solutions?

Knowing what type of paper you need to write will shape the format, content, and of course, the type of sources you’ll need to support your claims. Not sure what type of paper you should be writing? Check your assignment guidelines!

Second, regardless of what type of paper you’re writing, you’ll need to choose credible sources.

Don’t choose blogs by some anonymous author. Don’t choose .com websites with sales pitches that only try to sell you something.

And don’t choose old, outdated articles written before you were born (unless you have a really good reason for using them, such as you’re using them in a historical discussion of the topic).

Remember: As you examine your sources, make sure they provide sufficient evidence to support your statements.

Third, start researching.

I know this step can be daunting, and right now you might be feeling a little unsure as to what kinds of sources to use for your paper. Don’t worry, I’m here to help.

Because you might be writing one of many types of papers about global warming, I can’t include a list of credible sources for every type of paper here, but I have included 12 global warming articles to help you get started on your next essay.

Along with a brief summary of each article, I’ve also included an MLA 8 and an APA citation to include on your Works Cited or References page, whichever is relevant.

(I haven’t included the date of access for the MLA citations. If your professor requires it, you’ll need to add the date you viewed the source.)

Remember, you’ll also need to cite each article with an in-text citation.

There is a need to seriously follow all the prevention methods of the global warming to prevent further increase in the global warming. It is the right place for students to get essays on the prevention of global warming in very easy and simple words.

Essay on Prevention of Global Warming

Prevention of Global Warming Essay 1 (100 words)

Global warming is the continuous increase in the atmospheric temperature of earth causing negative climatic changes. Rise in temperature is caused by the fossil fuels, industries, agricultural processes, increasing emissions of greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, etc) because of the burning of wood, solid waste, fossil fuels, etc. In order to reduce the effect of global warming we should limit our need of agriculture, deforestation, mining, industrial production, etc. we should do re-plantation of the plants to a great level to reduce the side effects of deforestation. We should replant the genetically engineered plants and replenishment of oceans with algae which are efficient to recycle the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

Prevention of Global Warming Essay 2 (150 words)

We should take the issue of global warming very seriously and try our best to reduce the effects of it on the environment. We should follow all the rules and regulations planned and implemented by the government to reach to the aim and continue the possibility of healthy life on the earth. We should try to live very simple life in order to keep the atmospheric temperature up to normal so that all the natural cycles may go as usual without any negative effects. We should try to take bath with warm or cold water, wash clothes with cold water instead of hot water and lessens our need of personal vehicles to reduce the carbon dioxide gas emissions.

We should not involve in the deforestation and inform the authority immediately after seeing another one involved. We should promote the habit of re-plantation in the surrounding area in order to get fresh air as well as reduces the amount of carbon dioxide gas in the atmosphere.

Prevention of Global Warming Essay 3 (200 words)

In order to prevent our environment from the bad effect of global warming, there should be proper and strict norms which are must followed by countries all over the world as it is not an issue of a single community or country instead it is a global issue affecting the lives of whole planet. The massive increase in the atmospheric temperature because of many reasons is causing global warming. A big issue causing increase in the temperature is garbage incinerator which produces almost 10 percent of the electric energy. We should follow the recycle process of every possible thing to avoid the garbage incineration process.

Another way is to strictly stop the deforestation process as well as replanting more plants. As only trees are the best mediums of reducing the effect of greenhouse gases. Trees and soil of tress absorbs and stores carbon dioxide gas as their food in the presence of sun light. Another way to lessen the atmospheric temperature is the usages of low-flow showerheads and washing clothes with warm or cold water instead of hot water. We should reduce our needs of personal vehicles and try to use public transportations like auto-rickshaw, buses, trains, etc.

Prevention of Global Warming Essay 4 (250 words)

There are many effective methods to prevent the global warming. First of all we need to change our habits in order to bring some positive changes in our daily life. We need to replace our regular bulbs with the most effective compact fluorescent light (also called CFL) to reduce heat emissions. CFL consume very less power than other ordinary bulbs. It is completely banned in some countries to use ordinary bulbs. We should limit our driving with personal vehicles to save fuels from burning and reduce emission of green house gases. We should go through walk or use cycle to the near market and share driving with neighbours for same purposes.

We should follow recycle habit to use disposable products once more in other forms instead of throwing them such as paper, aluminium foils, newspapers, cans, etc in order to landfills. We should drive vehicles smoothly by ensuring that tyres are inflated properly in order to lessen the consumption of fuel. We should avoid the use of geysers and dishwasher and go for cold or warm water at home in order to save more energy producing heat. Avoid buying packaged products in order to avoid generating more wastes and garbage. We should a thermostat while using geysers in order to lessen the use of electricity and lower down temperature. We should keep electronic devices off and avoid unnecessary use to save fuel.

We should do more planting instead of cutting the plants to reduce the effect of global warming, to get fresh oxygen and reduce amount of carbon dioxide. There should be international level awareness programmes to make people aware about global warming.

Prevention of Global Warming Essay 5 (300 words)

Global warming is increasing day by day because of the increasing technological needs of the human beings. It is affecting the daily lives of the human beings, animals and plants to a great extent. Plants are great source of normalizing lives here and balancing the natural cycles however what if we cut the plants without replanting them. They utilizes all the carbon dioxide gas to make their food in the presence of sunlight but reducing number of plants continuously on the earth increases the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere which causes green house effect and increases the environment temperature and then global warming.

Carpooling with neighbours, friends or others is great idea to reduce the carbon dioxide gas emission in the air. Driving car need the burning of more fuel which creates CO2 as a by-product and gets collected in the atmosphere. So decreasing the number of driving by everyone may reduce the emission of green house gases and thus global warming to a great extent. There is a habit to replace plastic water bottles with the reusable ones in order to lessen the cost, effort and effects of waste disposal. It decreases the amount of trash in landfills as well as reduces amount of carbon dioxide and methane gas in the atmosphere.

People should choose buying local products from the local manufacturers, farmers, and producers in order to lessen the consumption of energy in transportation from long distance in order to reduce the carbon footprint. The effects of global warming can be lessened to a great extent if each and every person becomes responsible from their own end by having proper understanding and awareness. There are many cheap and simple methods to reduce the environment temperature as well as effect of global warming. We all need to be equally conscious and take strict decisions to bring positive environmental changes.

Prevention of Global Warming Essay 6 (400 words)

Global warming is a big social and environmental issue which needs to be solved on urgent basis by the end of each and every person. We should stop all the activities causing increase in the environmental temperature and level of carbon oxide including other green house gases in the air. We are releasing poison to the air after each drive. There are lots of activities of all of us causing increase in the environmental temperature however we are totally unaware of. Use of hot water for many purposes, use of ordinary bulbs, unnecessary use of electronic devices, cutting plants, burning wood during winter or other seasons for other purposes, burning fuel in transportation, and many more. We should measures which are highly efficient and eco friendly to the environment.

We should not cut plants instead we should do more planting in order to lessen the CO2 level in the atmosphere. Deforestation completely disturbs the ecology balance and affects the whole world. The rise in the environmental temperature is going at a faster rate in few last decades. According to the NASA and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), it is evaluated that the primary cause of increasing global temperature is human behaviour, activities and life styles. We should reduce our energy use whether at home or work place because high level energy use contributes high level of carbon dioxide. Fossil fuels are burned to get energy for many purposes but releases lots of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. So, reducing our energy use we can contribute towards reducing the personal carbon footprint.

Use of compact fluorescent or LED lights in place of ordinary bulbs reduces the energy use up to 75 percent and lasts longer. We should make sure that we are not wasting energy by any means unnecessarily. We should reduce our dependence over fossil fuels, electric lights, etc instead use green power which produces energy from the renewable sources such as solar light or wind. Transportation of materials from outside or other cities causes emission of more CO2. So, we should buy locally manufactured goods with minimal packaging in order to reduce CO2 emission and wastes. We should make habit of recycling goods or donate them instead of throwing them.

Instead of using our personal means of transport, we should use public transport means like bus, train, etc to reduce the emission of poisonous chemicals and pollutants to the air and lessen the risk of global warming. We should minimize our use of appliances and maintain our automobiles as well as make habit of reduce needs, reuse and recycle things.
